The American Dream

“Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”(John F. Kennedy)     In this country the opportunities are almost endless. So many decisions to be decided. However these freedoms of choice seem to be lessened everyday. We are considered a “free country” yet we lack so many essential ideas that truly would create a free environment.

Now, many will argue with these statements; claiming that america is a “one of a kind” country. However there are many-countries that are free. For a lot of these countries, they focus on the people’s needs instead of government domination. In America it’s quite different.

The youth have police enforced curfews that state the youth cannot be out passed a certain time. We must follow a certain path or we are considered dangerous and are removed from public education. In all reality we cannot step outside the lines. Does that represent true freedom. If we do, we are tossed away by the mindless zombies of America. The ones who choose to blindly follow the orders handed down to them.

Sadly these words describe most of the American youth today. We aren’t willing to change the world. Many would soon rather accept their fate as yet another gear to the endlessly firing machine that is the American government. Ruled by those who only wish to make money and have as much control as possible over this planet that we all live upon.

Our government would love for you to believe that they know what is good for you. That being different is not in your best interest. That following along and fighting their wars for them will save our country. It won’t. War is an economy on it’s own. It costs roughly 18,000 dollars to outfit every standard U.S trooper that steps foot in the middle east. (SeattlePi.Com) Where does all that money come from? You guessed it: the people’s paychecks.

Now, the blame does not lie with the soldiers of these wars. In fact quite the opposite. The blame lies with our government. The war in the Middle East is now almost as long as the Vietnam War, which lasted 20 years. So why are we still there? Is it because the “Muslims” killed 2,996 of our own in the 9/11 attack? (History.com) Well in all fairness we took our revenge with over 3-4 million muslims killed by the U.S since 2001. (History.com) We are still in that god forsaken desert because the government is making billions off of this war. Think about it. We already killed the man who claimed to have “carried out 9/11;” we pretty much destroyed his entire organization. So why is our dear president still sending our people to kill? Monetary gain. It always is and always will be about the money.

It is here that I finally understood the correlation between power and corruption. Those who believe in power will gain its illusion and be able to make others follow that illusion, and with this false power comes corruption.

This is why our government and president get away with things like this “war on terror”. It’s the reason that they can easily turn all of us citizens against one another; because we believe that they hold this power over us.

The youth believes that people like the police have this power too. This idea that someone with a badge and a gun has power over you is not okay. You want to solve these issues? Then speak out. Do not sit quietly as they strip our freedoms and turn us against our fellow Americans.

If the president wants to continue this war then strap him with an AR-15. Let him go fight for his oil. We have our own issues to fight on our own soil. I leave you with this: All like minded people stick together. We will not be sheep for their farm. We must always speak out for our freedom. They cannot tell us what we can and cannot say. We are human beings and we must act as such or we will soon be trapped in a steel box with a bucket in the corner.

If you truly think America is doing wrong by you, then why don’t you find a country with more freedom and more opportunities. Go find a country that loves you more than the United States of America, a country that will be yours till the end. America will be there for all of her people till the end of her days.
