A Solid Win for Demons Girls Soccer

The girls soccer teams played for the win against the Palisade bulldogs on their home field.

Still in the early part of the season, the girls soccer teams have played two in-league games, with varsity taking home a win against eagle, 2-0 while JV fell short of the win, losing 0-1.

In the most recent game against Palisade, both teams had a successful night. With JV up first, the team came out on top after a few close calls and a final score 2-1.

Varsity came in strong, scoring all three goals in the first half and keeping Palisade from scoring any the entire game. Ella Johnson (#3), a well known senior at GSHS, scored the first goal, which was followed by a goal scored by Taia Nykerk (#4), a sophomore on the Varsity team, and the third goal scored by Victoria Taylor (#9) a junior. With Paige Rightmire in goal the whole game, Glenwood Demons kept the bulldogs out the box and left the game after winning 3-0.

Next game coming up for the Glenwood girls soccer teams is this Tuesday against Coal Ridge,  April 4th. Varsity is at 4pm and JV is at 6pm.
