Spectacular Ham Recipe

This is one of my family’s favorite dishes during thanksgiving. We don’t eat much turkey but my mom cooks some good ham, seasoned and served in red sauce. It tastes good and has a nice little spice to it, and it’s a great dish for your family. The texture is very soft and juicy and goes well with pretty much anything else you eat. I really recommend trying it and introducing this delicious ham as a new, exciting Thanksgiving tradition.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • ¾ cup Chopped Fatty Ham Scraps
  • 6 (1/4 inch thick) slices Ham
  • Salt
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • ⅙ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • ½ tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Chili Colorado
  • ½ Onion
  • 1 ½ Tomatoes
  • 1 piece of Garlic
  • 1 cup Brewed Coffee

 

Steps to cook:

  • Step 1 – Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir ham scraps until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove to a plate, keeping the grease in the pan.
  • Step 2 – Place ham slices in the pan and cook over medium heat until browned, about 5 minutes on each side. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Remove ham and reserve on a plate.
  • Step 3 – Put the Chili Colorado, onion, garlic, and tomatoes in a pan with hot water and let boil for about 15 minutes. After boiled, rinse the water and add it into the blender until a red sauce is created. 
  • Step 4 – Reduce heat to medium-low in the oven and sprinkle flour and coffee over the pan drippings. Let it warm up. Increase heat to medium-high and add the ham slices with blended sauce. Let it cook combined and thicken for a few minutes. Season to taste.
