Lady Demons Come Strong Onto the Court

After losing out in the second round of the playoffs last year, the Lady Demons came back strong and ready to fight this 2019-2020 season.

So far the ladies have played fifteen games and won twelve of them. They are 4-0 in league play and are sitting at 10th place in the Colorado 4A class. In some of their most recent games, they beat Grand Junction Central, 51-37, and Eagle Valley, 66-17, both away. Just this last Saturday, they took down the Steamboat Springs Sailors 52-21 on their home court.

“We have really been able to work together on and off the court this season,” said Senior Kate Shanahan, “and I think that is shown in our record.”

The Demons have several games left through the end of February and claim that they cannot overlook any of their games in order to keep their strong record and go far into the late season.

“My favorite thing about playing Basketball is the adrenaline during games,” said Shanahan. “To look up into the stands and see a whole town behind you is a great feeling.

In the next week, the girls have several away games against Battle Mountain, Palisade, and Summit. Their next home game is next Friday, February 7th at 6 o’clock. Let show our Lady Demons some support!
