Basketball Preview

Glenwood Basketball (11-3) will face off against Steamboat Springs (8-7) at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon. Glenwood will look to continue their hot start to the season since they lost their first two games they have been on an 11-1 roll which has thrust them into the top thirty rankings for the entire state. As the Demons steamrolled Grand Junction Central 44-23 and won a close game against Eagle Valley 67-52 The Demons will be lead by star Seniors John Luele who this season has dropped 201 points and Mitchell Burt who has 184. Patrick Young as well will lead the charge as the third Demon this season to break the hundred point mark with 113. As well as Reid Swanson who leads the team in 3pt percentage with 60% and A.J. Adams who leads the team in FG% with 51 will be ready to make their impact and sink the Sailors ship on the court.

As for the Demons Girls Varsity Basketball team (11-3) they will look to sweep the deck against the Steamboat Springs Sailors (4-10). The Demons are currently rolling on a five game win streak which was able to continue after they shot down Eagle Valley 66-17 and previously fought back against the warriors to win 51-37 The girls team will be led by top point scorer Qwynn Massie who has 105 and Natalya Taylor who has 96 as well as the team’s best shooting percentage with 53%. As well as Hadley Yellico who leads the team in three-pointers with 11 and Maddie Moser who has the top 3pt shooting percentage with 58%. Led by their top players Glenwood will hope to put holes in the sails of the Steamboat Sailors.
