The Glenwood Spring Demons Soccer team lost to Standley Lake this past Saturday in the playoffs in a unfortunate 2-1 loss. The game opened up with a Justin Garces goal, however in the 2nd the Gators were able to pile on two more with the second being on a controversial penalty kick with ten minutes remaining thus bringing an end to the Demons season. The season was not lost however seeing as the surplus of seniors that left last year had many believing that they would not be able to replicate their previous season, however lead by top goal scorer German Alvarado and Goalie Carlos Guadardo who had an extraordinary .756 GAA they were able to blast themselves into the playoffs and dominate most of their league. In addition to German Alvarado and Carlos Guadardo, seniors Angel Bernal, Alan Videla, Jack Reinhold, and Mitchell Burt will not be returning, which means that it will fall to the next wave of JV players to hold their winning legacy.
