On Friday, the Glenwood Springs High School football team took to the road to play at Trailblazer Stadium against the Conifer Lobos. The Demons couldn’t get it going and suffered a 49-11 loss.

The 215 total yards for Glenwood Springs was not enough to secure the win as Conifer was able to score seven touchdowns against Glenwood’s one. The lone touchdown of this game came via a rush by senior Tucker Porter, as well as a 42-yard field goal courtesy of Tyler Thomas. Glenwood’s rushing attack was its strong suit as they had 179 total rushing yards, as opposed to only 36 passing yards.

Quarterback Evan Heyl himself also had five rushing yards against Conifer. Glenwood’s biggest highlight of the game however was Blake Nieslanik’s 30-yard run to put the Demons within striking distance of the endzone.

Glenwood’s homecoming they will face the rival Rifle Bears at home in what will surely be the game of the season. A full preview will be available in The Brimstone before the big game.
