Demons Football ruins Huskies senior night

Last Friday was Senior Night at Battle Mountain, but the Glenwood Springs Demons football team put a quick stop to their celebration.

The Demons took advantage of a short-handed Battle Mountain squad as the hosts were without two outstanding seniors. Glenwood ruined the festivities from the get-go.

“It’s kind of an insult to be invited to another school’s Senior Night,” Demons Senior Wyatt Ewer said. “Usually they try to bring in a team they think they can beat easily, but we’re weren’t going to be that team.”

Glenwood started the game with a 20-yard run from senior Gavin Olson, which set up senior Luke Gair’s 5-yard touchdown run to put the Demons ahead 6-0. Gair and Olson continued to rack up yardage on the ground, before a 17-yard pass from junior, Dylan Albright to Ewer set up a short touchdown run from fullback Elliot Walz. After a fumble recovery, Olson had his own opportunity to score, padding the Demon’s lead. Four more touchdowns from the Demons capped off the blowout win by a score 0f 48-3.
