Football Preview-Palisade

After a dominant Homecoming win last week, the Glenwood Springs Demons football team hope to ride their wave of momentum to Palisade and beat the Bulldogs on their home turf. After a 41-0 rout of Eagle Valley, the Demons are riding high and are thirsty for blood.

A big piece of the win was Gavin Olsen, who rushed for 71 yards on seven rushes averaging 10.1 yards per carry and two touchdowns. Olsen has been huge the whole year. This season, Olsen has 592 total yards on 88 rushes, averaging 6.7 yards per carry and seven total touchdowns. Another big threat in Glenwoods arsenal is senor Running Back, Luke Gair, averaging five yards per carry, and 4 touchdowns on the year.

With that being said, Palisade is still a very scary team. Sitting at a 5-1 record, The Bulldogs look to secure the first place spot in the 3A Western Slope Football Standings. Carried by mobile and elusive Quarterback Cam Tucker, The Bulldogs explosive offence has a total of 22 touchdowns in just 6 games. Ten of those touchdowns come from Tucker running the ball, putting his ratio of rush TDs to pass TDs at 5:1. Tucker has 851 rushing yards in 110 attempts.

Will Tucker’s legs tear up the Demons defence, or will Coach Engle walk away with another tally in the win column for the Demons?
