After a 1-3 start to the football season, the Glenwood Springs football squad looks to bounce back into the win column after a disappointing loss at the hands of long time rival, the Rifle bears. Glenwood will travel to Johnstown to take on the Roosevelt Roughriders.

Glenwood sits 1-3 on the season after getting off to an 0-2 start. Glenwood soundly defeated Conifer on September 14 , by a score of 41 to 20, to capture it’s first and only win of the season. Glenwood has had strong performances from Seniors Wyatt Ewer, and Gavin Olson all year.

Roosevelt sits at 0-4 on the season, after being outscored 162 to 55 in their first four games. The Roughriders will look to finally get in the win column as they should expect to see strong  performances on the ground from seniors Nick Wall and Devynn Sanchez.

Although Roosevelt has struggled throughout their season, Roosevelt’s first real shot at winning came last week as Holy Family edged out a 43 to 39 victory, the same team that defeated Glenwood in their opener 50 to 35.

Glenwood will have to rely on their strong ground game as Roosevelt has not been able to contain it, allowing 903 rushing yards in just 4 games, they are allowing an average of 226 yards on the ground per game. Gavin Olson and Senior Luke Gair should have no trouble running the ball.

Glenwood will have one last chance to win before they continue on to league play starting October 5, against Eagle Valley.
